MultiSet AI, the scan-agnostic Visual Positioning System (VPS) built for large-scale, indoor-outdoor XR, today announced VPS v1.7.0. The new version introduces Content Space, a no-code workspace for creating and sharing location-based AR in minutes through MultiSet's Mapper iOS app, and GeoHint, a localization upgrade that slashes time-to-fix by injecting live GPS context and returning poses in global WGS-84 coordinates.
This release has been designed for MultiSet's customer and user base to support seamless indoor-to-outdoor and vice-versa transitions in their deployments.
Enterprises want to move from proof-of-concept to production without weeks of GIS wrangling. With v1.7.0, a field technician can scan a facility, drop digital work-instructions in Content Space, and have operators localize with centimetre accuracy even when they’re hopping between maps using the same devices they already carry.
Key Features in v1.7.0 Visual Positioning System
Feature | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
Content Space – a new module in the MultiSet mobile app for drag-and-drop AR authoring, multi-layer experiences and QR/URL sharing. | • Prototype AR overlays in minutes • Publish unique URLs per “space” for easy stakeholder reviews • Support multiple content layers at the same physical site |
GeoHint in Localization APIs | • Pass live GPS (lat, lon, alt) to the cloud or on-prem engine • Cuts visual search in large outdoor venues, reducing localization latency and aliasing • Optionally receive results directly in WGS-84 to feed GIS dashboards or robotics fleets |
Unity SDK response in Geo Coordinates | • Eliminates post-processing transforms - poses arrive ready for global overlays or cross-system fusion |
Bug fix: Background Localization stability in Unity SDK | • Resolves rare stalls during continuous relocalization, improving drift management for long AR sessions |
Developer experience
Toggle-to-try: passGeoPose and geoCoordinatesInResponse are one-click checkboxes inside the MultiSet SDK Manager or a simple JSON flag for REST users.
Backwards compatible: All existing map IDs and API keys remain valid; projects compiled with SDK v1.6.x upgrade with no code changes.
