MultiSet v1.10: On-Device VPS for iOS, Multi-Object Model Tracking, and Expanded Scan Support

San Francisco, CA – December 11, 2025 – Today, we’re excited to release MultiSet v1.10, a major update that pushes more of our Visual Positioning System (VPS) to the edge, unlocks powerful new object-level tracking capabilities, and expands scan-agnostic support for enterprise workflows. This release is designed for teams building real-world XR that must run everywhere - indoors, outdoors, on-premise, offline, and across complex environments.

MultiSet v1.10 includes:

  • On-Device VPS for iOS (a foundational leap toward edge-native spatial computing)

  • ModelSet Tracking for multiple objects in the same session

  • Faro scanner support (E57) for broader scan-agnostic deployments

  • MapSet alignment tools, simulation data capture flows, analytics upgrades, and map archiving

  • Significant performance and reliability improvements across Maps, MapSets, and ModelSets

On-Device VPS for iOS: Cloud-Class Accuracy, Now Running at the Edge

With v1.10, MultiSet is introducing On-Device Localization for iOS — a major architectural milestone and one of the first true on-device VPS systems available today.

This feature allows enterprise teams to run VPS inference entirely on the device, tapping into the available CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine on modern iPhones and iPads.

On-Device VPS delivers performance comparable to cloud-based inference without relying on connectivity.

Why this matters

  • Offline by design: No round trips to the cloud during localization.

  • Ultra-fast inference: Sub-second first-lock, ideal for dynamic environments.

  • Data sovereignty: All processing stays on the device - critical for regulated or high-security industries.

  • Deployment flexibility: Package Offline Map and MapSet bundles directly into your app or manage them at runtime.

This unlocks new deployment environments where traditional cloud approaches simply don’t work: factory floors, airports, energy facilities, construction sites, remote warehouses, and more.

“With v1.10, we’re taking VPS from cloud-first to edge-native. On-device localization gives our customers the reliability, speed, and control they need when every millisecond counts.”— Shadnam Khan, Co-Founder, GTM & Product

ModelSet Tracking: Multiple Objects, One Seamless Session

ModelSet Tracking has always allowed developers to anchor AR content directly to real-world objects using a machine-readable digital twin. With v1.10.0, this expands dramatically.

You can now track multiple ModelSets simultaneously within the same AR session.

What this enables

  • Multi-tool and multi-machine workflows for industrial training and operations

  • AR product experiences with multiple trackable items on display

  • Complex guidance flows where multiple objects interact or are scattered through the scene

  • High-density scenes without stitching together separate tracking flows

This brings MultiSet closer to robotics-grade multi-object awareness giving developers far more flexibility in how they design spatial experiences.

More Scan-Agnostic Than Ever: Faro Support via E57

MultiSet continues to expand its scan-agnostic positioning layer. v1.10 introduces support for Faro scanners using E57 export, joining our existing compatibility with Matterport, Leica BLK, NavVis, xgrids, and other photogrammetry or LiDAR pipelines.

Benefits

  • Import Faro Focus, Orbis, Flash/Hybrid scans with ease

  • Follow structured scanning guidelines to ensure coverage, density, and stability

  • Disable altimeter for correct map height alignment (critical for accurate camera pose estimation)

The goal is simple: use whatever scanning hardware you already have, and MultiSet will make the resulting maps machine-readable for real-world XR and robotics.

New Tools for Building, Testing, and Managing Spatial Data

V1.10.0 includes a suite of enhancements across the Developer Portal and Unity SDK:

MapSet Alignment Tool for Unity

A dedicated visual alignment workflow to correct MapSet misalignments (“ghosting”) and push the updated transforms back to the server—ideal for large or multi-floor environments.

Simulation Data Capture

A new sample scene and workflow for recording simulation data in the field, uploading it, and replaying localization behavior in the editor for repeatable testing.

Query Analytics

The Developer Portal now shows detailed localization query analytics for Maps and ModelSets, helping teams understand usage patterns and performance at scale.

Map & MapSet Archiving

Archive individual maps—or maps inside a MapSet—to keep workspaces clean as environments evolve.

Performance & Reliability Improvements Across the Stack

V1.10 introduces several foundational fixes and optimizations:

  • Faster localization across Maps, MapSets, and ModelSets

  • Corrected confidence values in multi-frame VPS API responses

  • A fix for a confidence check issue in Single Frame Localization

  • Improved memory management in Unity when filtering blurred frames

These updates make real-world deployments more stable, predictable, and easier to debug especially in high-traffic or low-light environments.

Available Now

MultiSet v1.10.0 is available today across the MultiSet Developer Portal and the Unity SDK, including all new sample scenes for On-Device Localization, ModelSet Tracking, MapSet Alignment, and Simulation.
